Family Treasure Hunt & Window Decorations trail* - Sunday 4th May from 2pm

Its time to go for a walk around the village for a family friendly Treasure Hunt, based on our 2025 theme = "Storybook Nostalgia" and take a look at the wonderful window decorations that have been placed in the windows of local houses.

It all starts at 2pm at Bethesda Methodist Church Hall, where you can collect your treasure hunt sheet for a casual walk around the village.

We request that you are back to the Methodist Church Hall by 3.30pm, so the quizzes can be marked.

Cream Teas & 2 x 50 min sets of music from a Mangotsfield Ukulele Band during the afternoon at The Methodist Church.  All proceeds to our charity - Young Lives vs Cancer

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to be announced at 4pm

Fee = Proposed donation of £5 per family trail sheet

Please decorate your windows with a display of the theme 'Storybook Nostalgia' - For details see click HERE

* You may have noticed that we don't have a scarecrow trail this year - we've taken a break from this due to lower numbers in recent years participating and trying something new.

Songs of Celebration - Sunday 4th May - 6pm

All Saints Church is the venue of our Songs of Celebration this year. We will have singing from Frampton Male Voice Choir, an organ recital by Graham Bull, poems & readings to celebrate our May Day weekend. In addition, we'll have a representative from our chosen charity 'Young Lives vs Cancer' who will explain their charity and how they use our charitable donations.

Carnival Day Procession - Monday 5th May 10.15am from Bradley Avenue shops.

Our day begins at 10.15 am with the procession from Bradley Avenue to Bethesda Methodist Church where we will crown our MayDay King & Queen + award prizes for the best dressed procession costumes & scarecrows.

Young or old, please dress up in your favourite 'STORYBOOK NOSTALGIA' characters and join in with our procession led by The City of Bristol Pipes & Drums  Band, our May Day King and Queen with their attendants & our local Brownies and local Scout Group.

This procession certainly provides a great way to begin our Carnival Day.

Carnival Day Stalls, Food & Entertainment - Monday 5th May

After our procession, the carnival day is officially open with lots of entertainment, stalls & food outlets along Down Road, Camp View  and in the grounds of both Churches for the rest of the day.

Have your tastebuds ready to experience foods from all cuisines and be ready to shop a variety of stalls from upcycled artifacts, sweets and treats to jewellery and plants, naming just a few.

Our Monday programme is complete and can be downloaded from the 2 links below.

Our very first Dog Show at the carnival will take place during the day.

We've also compiled an FAQ HERE - topics include parking, food, road closures etc. This will continue to be updated with information as we get asked / think of it.

Our 2025 Charity

We are pleased to be able to have 'Young Lives vs Cancer South West' as our chosen charity for 2025.

The work that they do is amazing to provide help and support to young people and their families who are in hospital with a cancer diagnosis.

Their support includes a place to stay at Homes from Home free of charge for the duration of time theri child is on treatment.

Mainly a Bristol based charity, they have been very supportive of our Carnival Committee and we hope that we can raise a lot of money for them on our Carnival weekend to help them to continue their work.
