Dog Show 2025

Do you have a dog with a waggy tail or a cute nose?

With so many lovely walks around the village, and many of our residents having dogs, we are holding our very first dog show at the carnival.

Day: Monday 5th May during the carnival

Time: 12:30pm

Venue: On the 'Tennis Courts' behind the graveyard of All Saints Church hall  [ please be respectful of the graves and follow the correct route to the arena ]

Registrations will be from 11am - midday at the Methodist Lawns, you'll be able to enter a maximum of 4 categories. The categories are:

  • Perfect Puppy (under 1 year)
  • Golden Oldie (over 10 years)
  • Loveliest Lady (bitches only)
  • Fabulous Fella (dogs only)
  • Waggiest Tail (all welcome)
  • Best Condition (all welcome)
  • Dog the Judge would most like to take home (all welcome)

There will be a 'Best in Show' and 'Reserve Best in Show' taken from dogs that are placed 1st in the other categories.

Well behaved dogs and owners welcome.

£2 charge per dog per category, rosettes and prizes awarded for each category.

Dog Show Rules of Participation:

  • All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  • All handlers must be able to control their dog at all times, and are responsible for keeping their pets under control at all times.
  • All dog faeces to be picked up by the dog handler and taken away for disposing of in the dog litter bins around the village. Please respect the village surroundings and the fact that the dog show is taking place on the grounds of All Saints Church.
  • We ask that only sociable / friendly dogs that are relaxed around other dogs are entered into the dog show. Handlers with dogs showing signs of aggression or unruly behaviour will be asked to leave for the safety and enjoyment of others.
  • Handlers are responsible for the safety of their own dogs in warmer weather, to include the provision of water and shade.
  • Only dog and handler to go in show ring when invited to do so by the show compere. 
  • Please be polite and respectful to all volunteers.
  • Any handler not following the rules will be asked to leave the grounds.
